Guided Meditation on Living Fearlessly

This is a guided meditation on living fearlessly.

Paramahansa Yogananda said, do not be afraid of anything. Even when tossing on a wave in a storm, you are still on the bosom of the ocean. Always hold on to the consciousness of God's underlying presence. Be of even mind and say, I am fearless.

I am made of the substance of God.

I am a spark of the fire of Spirit.

I am an atom of the cosmic flame.

I am a cell of the vast universal body of the Father.

I and my Father are one.

As we begin our meditation, it's important to sit in the correct meditation posture.

The spine should be held straight, chin parallel to the floor.

Close your eyes and gently lift your gaze upward without straining to the Spiritual eye, the point between the eyebrows. This is the seat of concentration and divine perception. Mentally command the body to be still and relaxed. Consciously feel the body relaxing.

Leave aside all thoughts of the world.

Let go of all cares and concerns and feel the peace within.

Let us begin with a prayer.

Please repeat after me.

Teach me O Infinite Spirit, that whether I am awake or asleep, alert or daydreaming, living or dying, thine all protecting presence encircles me. Om. Peace. Amen.

Paramahansa-ji said, fear comes from the heart. If ever you feel overcome by dread of some illness or accident, you should inhale and exhale deeply, slowly and rhythmically several times, relaxing with each exhalation.

This helps the circulation to become normal.

If your heart is truly quiet, you cannot feel fear at all.

As you continue to sit completely still in meditation posture, let us practice a breathing exercise.

This will help calm the body and mind.

Keeping the gaze and attention focused at the point between the eyebrows, expel the breath through the mouth in a double exhalation. [double breath out]

Now inhale through the nostrils, tensing the whole body and clenching the fists.

Hold briefly, then exhale, expelling the breath through the mouth in a double exhalation [double breath out], and relaxing all the body parts at once.

Let's repeat this three times.

Inhale and tense, hold, exhale and relax.

Inhale and tense, hold, exhale and relax.

Inhale and tense, hold, exhale and relax.

Now, one final time without tension, inhale, hold, exhale and completely relax.

Now, forget the breath. Let it flow in and out naturally of its own accord as in ordinary breathing.

Keeping the gaze and attention fixed at the point between the eyebrows, listen to and concentrate upon these words by Paramahansa Yogananda. Whatever it is that you fear, take your mind away from it and leave it to God. Have faith in him. Affirm: The Heavenly Father is with me. I am protected. Mentally surround yourself with Spirit. You will feel His wonderful protection.

When the consciousness is kept on God, you will have no fears. Every obstacle will then be overcome by courage and faith.

Now let us practice the following information. It was given by Paramahansa Yogananda for living fearlessly.

I am fearless.

I am made of the substance of God.

I am a spark of the fire of Spirit.

I am an atom of the cosmic flame.

I am a cell of the vast universal body of the Father.

I and my Father are one.

Now, please repeat this affirmation with me. First, at a normal volume, then softer, then as a whisper. And finally, repeat it mentally. Concentrate deeply on these words until you become absorbed in their inner meaning and convert them into an actual experience.

I am fearless.

I am made of the substance of God.

I am a spark of the fire of Spirit.

I am an atom of the cosmic flame.

I am a cell of the vast universal body of the Father.

I and my Father are One

I am fearless.
